  • All lab appointments are booked through Alberta Precision Laboratories/DynaLIFE by visiting https://qme.dynalife.ca/ or by calling 1-877-702-4486. Patients may make an account, or book as a Guest.

    Steps:

    1. Log in or select “Book as Guest”

    a. If logging in, you will need to select the green “Book Appointment” button in the bottom left.

    2. Select what type of test you are booking.

    3. Select a location.

    a. The lab at the Hinton hospital is “Alberta Precision Labs - Hinton Healthcare Centre,” located at 1280 Switzer Dr, Hinton.

    4. Select a date and time.

    5. If a guest, complete personal information.

    6. Confirm appointment.

  • Yes. Dr. Jones’ practice is OPEN to ALL pediatric patients. ANYONE who is 17 years old and under may book an appointment. Please call to book a new patient appointment.

  • At this time, Dr. Jones’ practice is not accepting new patients.

    There are TWO exceptions. Dr. Jones’ practice is open to:

    1. ALL pediatric patients. ANYONE who is 17 years old and under may book an appointment. (The term pediatric is not meant as an insult to teenage humans. It is a medical term for those humans under 18-years old.)

    2. ALL RCMP members, sheriffs, peace officers, nurses, paramedics/EMTs, fish and wildlife officers, and volunteer /staff firefighters may call to book an appointment.

    ALL new patient appointments must be booked by phone. Please call Aspirare Health at 825-421-5001.

    Please note, ANYONE, patient or not, may book a company medical or professional driver’s license by calling Aspirare Health at 825-421-5001.

  • Yes, and no.

    Alberta Health Care covers all insured services provided at Aspirare Health. This is not a ‘privatized’ clinic.

    Aspirare Health is privately owned by Dr. Jones. Most clinic’s in Alberta are privately owned. The Government does not pay for the general operations of the clinic, like they would a hospital.

    The costs to run the clinic come from the fees that are collected from your provincial insurance plan. In Alberta, this is Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP).

Clinic Policies

  • To cancel an appointment, Aspirare Health requires a minimum of 24 hours of notice. Notice may be given by calling Aspirare Health.

    A no show fee will apply if a patient fails to cancel their appointment with 24 hours notice, is more than 7 minutes late, or does not show up to their appointment:

    1st no-show: Patient will be notified, and a no-show recorded in their chart. After 1 calendar year, the designation is removed.

    2nd no-show: $75 no-show fee. This must be paid before another appointment can be booked.

    3rd no-show: $150 no-show fee. The fee must be paid before another appointment can be booked. A no-show beyond this may result in termination of services, and no longer being able to book appointments.

    Missing a Physical or a 30-minute appointment: $150 no-show fee

    Fees may be paid by Cash, Visa, MasterCard, and Debit. We do not accept cheque.

  • Prescription refills without an appointment are not covered by any provincial healthcare plans.

    Existing patients may pay $50 for a prescription refill without an appointment by calling 825-421-5001.

    Conditions:

    • 90-day maximum

    • up to a maximum of four medications

    • no controlled substances

    Prescription Refills with an appointment are always free of charge

  • You will only be contacted if your results require a change in management. In most cases, you will not receive a call.

    Please note, staff are not legally permitted to provide you information regarding your test results. If you wish to know your test results or if your symptoms are not improving, please book an appointment to see Dr. Jones.

  • Sick notes are an uninsured service and not covered by any provincial healthcare plans.

    We are working out a solution to help people with their company requests for sick notes.

    Please follow for updates on when a solution is available to help those that are not Dr Jones’ patients.

  • As of February 1, 2024 (applicable only to new bookings):

    Driver’s License Medicals are an uninsured service. They are not covered by any provincial healthcare plans. Driver’s license medicals cost $200. This includes Professional Driver’s license. Professional Driver’s License Medicals are for Alberta commercial licenses (Class 1, 2, 3 and 4). You must inform staff that they are booking for this type of appointment at the time of booking.

    ANYONE, patient or not, may book a Driver’s License Medical.

    An Urgent Driver’s License Medical (same/next day squeeze in) is $300.

    Discounts are as follows:

    1. 74.5y/o + (Government Mandated)

    a. if Dr. Jones’ patient: 50% discount = $100

    b. if not Dr. Jones’ patient: 25% discount = $150

    2. Professional Driver’s license

    a. 10% discount if Dr. Jones’ patient = $180

    All fees must be paid before being seen. We accept Cash, Visa, MasterCard, and Debit. We do not accept cheque.

Coverage &

Out of Province

  • Yes. While Aspirare Health is privately owned by Dr. Jones, your Alberta Health Care covers insured services.

    However, there are many uninsured services that AHC will not cover. These services, which we can provide, include driver’s licences, insurance forms, sick notes, sports medicals, and more. Please call 825-421-5001 for more information.

  • We accept valid Canadian Health Care Cards from all provinces and territories that participate in the provincial reciprocal payment agreement. We will require picture ID for verification.

    Unfortunately, Quebec is not part of this agreement, and we cannot accept your healthcare insurance if you are from Quebec. If you are, then you will have to pay for the appointment and present your bill to your insurance provider.

  • You will need to pay for your visit. We accept Cash, Visa, MasterCard and Debit. We do not accept cheques.

  • We do not accept travel insurance. You will have to pay for the visit before being seen. You can then present your receipt to your insurer.

  • If you just moved to Alberta, you must apply within 3 months to apply for an Alberta Health Care Card. Please ask our staff for more information.

  • Examples of uninsured services for which you may be charged include:

    • Insurance forms

    • Private letters/forms (e.g. sick notes)

    • 3rd-party letters/examinations/reports (e.g. medical-legal reports)

    • Uninsured procedures (e.g. circumcision, wart removal, cosmetic procedures)

    • Transfer of records (subject to Health Information Act regulations)

    • Telephone prescription renewals

    • Travel advice and immunizations
